Django Unchained Trailer
I’m not the biggest Tarantino fan, but I have been wanting him to make a western ever since Kill Bill. He talks a lot of shit about a lot of projects he wants to do that will probably never get made but once he starts shooting he gets the job done quickly, so here we are presented with the trailer for his new film due out Christmas, Django Unchained. Perhaps this Christmas release could hurt box office figures, as it did Jackie Brown, but then again since 1997 he’s grown into more-or-less a household name and I have a feeling people view his films as event films.
Now for the actual trailer: Jaime Foxx looks like he’s having a lot of fun as does Christoph Waltz, but I think DiCaprio is going to knock this one out of the park. I haven’t read too much about the casting and all that Jazz but I would be really surprised if Franco Nero doesn’t make an appearance.
All in all, I’d say I’m looking forward to this one but with reservations. What do you think?
Franco Nero was confirmed a while ago, but Dicaprio will be nothing compared to Waltz who looks epic in everything he’s done (even Carnage) and Jamie Foxx, who I used to dislike, will be awesome as Django. I assume it’s not going to be the exact storyline of the original. I haven’t even seen a coffin being dragged around yet…
There is no way judging by the trailer that this is even remotely like the original story of Django. Definitely not a bad thing, as that story has been played out in numerous forms. I like the idea of this being just another unofficial Django sequel.
Originally Will Smith was going to be Django so I’m glad that hasn’t happened, he is way too commanding and not innocent enough to pull off what Jamie Foxx ostensibly seems like he might perhaps pull off relatively well. Hopefully this film will do for blacks what Basterds did for Jews
If there’s one thing I trust Quentin Tarantino on it’s casting. I’m no Will Smith fan but if Tarantino thinks he’s right for the part then it’s fine by me. Having said that, I’m glad he was replaced by Jaime Foxx. He looks fairly promising as the lead.
You guys can godahell! William Smith is a saint! Having said that, Jamie Foxx is also great.
I can’t think of anything I’ve liked him in.
You don’t like Independence Day? Men in Black? Bad Boys? I, Robot? Motherfucking Pursuit of Happyness? That film made me cry like a baby!
Let’s see: nope, yes (but he was annoying, I liked it mostly for Tommy Lee), nope, nope, and didn’t see it.
I did see I Am Legend, Seven Pounds, Ali, Wild Wild West (I know you like this one), and Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
If you watch The Pursuit of Happyness and don’t cry, you’re a souless creature that should only live in shadows.
I have a feeling I won’t cry and if I watch it now there’ll be too much pressure…
Hmm.. well it’s worth a look at least, it’s been in my top 100 ever since you asked me to make it. It’s somewhere around the half-way mark, I think. No pressure.
Oh, I noticed. Don’t you worry. I know your top 100 inside out. I may get ’round to it, but I don’t want to hate it, and it is so so possible that I will.
